I've been through the whole system, new maf, ects, acts, 02, a whole new top end, timing, injectors and for, and back probed all the rest... I just can't get it to idle without a slight surge and it's drinking gas like cola.

Anyone ever have a similar mess? The one thing I have to go on is in traffic it runs cool but at speed its warm and hills tick it up.

For that I think the rich is to blame but I kinda know it's rich per the mileage.

The only known issue is that the ground for the whiper motor is hanging but the system seems to ground elsewhere (the head has different sized threads than my old one and it needs some figuring). At this point any input is welcome.

You never listed the fuel pressure regulator in the stuff you checked/replaced. What you say it is doing is classic FPR.

Got somewhere, the 02 sensor backed off so I cranked it down, still surging a bit at idle but up to 18 mpg now (with 32s) and I found a sneaky exhaust leak to patch up too
