I just replaced the Evap. Canister (CX 1691) on my Ranger but can’t clear the code (P 1451), I’ve checked the gas cap and the seal looks fine same for the two seals on the canister and full tank connection. Does any one know how to check the device it looks like some type of solenoid that plugs into one of the ports on the canister via a hose.

Thx.

Did you disconnect the battery for about 10 mins. and see if the code came back? My mothers Cadillac had an error code that kept coming up saying the gas cap was off every time It got gassed it up. I took it in to have it checked at the dealer and the tech told me nothing was wrong with it. He told me he disconnected the battery and let it sent for 10 min. and connected it back and the error code went away and never came back. The my wife's Corolla did the same thing after we gassed her car up one day. I did the same thing the tech told me to do and the code never came back up. I had it checked at our Goodyear Service center just to make sure after I disconnected and reconnected the battery and they said everything was good. No charge as well...which is even better...lol

Hope this helps some, Bro.
