Hey all!
I have a 1994 Ranger Supercab XLT 4X4. It has automatic locking hubs. When I push the dash button the light comes on, I can hear the "computer" click, and the transfer case engages. When I push the low button it goes into low I can't go over 15mph in second gear. Everything seems to be fine as far as the transfer case engaging goes.
The problem appears to be in the hubs. They are not locking in. We took them off today and everything looks fine. Nothing looks broken. We cleaned every thing up very good and reinstalled them and it didn't help. They still won't lock. When we had the hubs off, we were able to push the "spring" in on the hubs with screwdrivers and see that they will lock when pushed out into the hub. I guess they just aren't being pushed in to engage. Like I said everything looks good and we cleaned it up. Any ideas as to what and where the problem could be. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
