My credo
If I can't do it...find someone to teach me
1994 Ford Ranger 3.0. I am trying to hook the transmission cooler lines back up at the transmission. I have the bottom line in but the top line has been beating me up for the last 1 1/2 hours. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking I will have to disconnect the bottom line and see if that helps me get the top line on. That would really bite because that one took me about an hour to finally get. Thanks again for any and all help!!

Yes flare fittings can be a pain to reconnect
Loosen/remove any frame attachments so the pipe can be moved around a bit to line up the pipe square to the connection
Also any clamps holding the 2 pipes together if they are removable

The attachments can be put on after both pipes are connected and tightened

Yes, should have done the top one first, then the bottom, but hindsight is 20/20, lol

Yep, it’s a pain. Which is why on my green 2000 I got a little smarter and made new aluminum hard lines and put a -6 AN splice at the front of the motor on both lines. Now I can easily separate them where I have more room to work out front if I need to and they won’t rust out again. Still was a pain to get them hooked to the transmission. Might see if I can come up with some sort of adapter for the transmission in the future.
