Squeaky leaf springs

As some of you know put a rear add a leaf in the Ranger. When I broke them apart in-between each leaf was a thin nylon plate. Not much thicker than a peice of paper. Well tha kit didn't come with one so I assembled it without and had no real issues other than sometimes they just squeak like crazy. I've read on Facebook similar issues with the Tremor leaf packs which are multi leafs were the standards are a mono leaf design. Is there any kind of grease or shim or something I could maybe spread them and put in there to keep it from squeaking? It only does it for a day or 2 then quits for a while. Thought when it was hot and dry but it seems to do it when it's wet and cool like this week. No consistency on when it wants to do it.

You sure its squeaking there? I would think that would make more of a banging sound wouldnt it?

Squeeks in suspension are usually bushings. My expeditions used to do it bad up front...id squirt some used oil on them once in a while and it shut it up.

I thought it was at the bushing as well on driver side front. But the other guys at the shop were saying it was where the end of tha add a leaf meets the mono leaf. Next time I go out I'll shoot some of the Lithium spray stuff up in there on the bushing. If it bushings that should be an easy fix. Didn't want to tear those leafs back apart. With my primitive clamps it was a SOB to get them lined up and back together

Unless the leaf on the add a leaf has holes to hold the plastic bushings in place, there isn’t much you can do with that.

If it does, a spring shop or a site that sells springs should have what you need. I think I ordered replacements off amazon last time for my 2011.

Either way, plastic bushings or not, ceramic infused silicone brake grease helps and doesn’t wash away fast. Jamb a pry bar in between the leaves and apply the grease at the rub points. You’ll probably have to do that twice a year.
