My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Wow. That is interesting.

the grey-t escape
Yes- that is cool. It looks like the long gone jc whitney kit, Ive only seen a couple in person, one was with no duals but really wide rear tires. I wanted to do a dually at one time, Ive found spacers online that have the right bolt pattern but they are meant for tractors. Im not sure if they would hold up to highway speed/service.

The OP Rangers been shown on here a few times; it last changed hands 2+ years ago if you note the dates.

@racsan - That Ranger doesn't have the defunct JC Whitney kit, but more like the Custom & Commercial Wheel kit (which I think he still sells).
Custom & Commercial wheel kit consists of 2 rear and 2 front wheel adapters.
The adapters change pattern from 5x4.5 (Ranger) to 5x205 (dually rims) bolt pattern while spacing things out ~2-3" in rear/4-5" in front.
Note: The rims are 14x5J which means you need to mount 195/xxR14 tires. They don't look out of place on an '88, but might be small on newer Ranger. I'm pretty sure he's getting the rims from South Asia - they have a bunch of little dually trucks over there.
Plus the appropriate fender flares.
Personally, I would sooner go for 6x205 dually rims as found on Mercedes Sprinter vans. They allow for 205/xxR15 tires (There's are also some narrow 16" dually rims in Europe. We just need a globe trotter like RonD to send us a set or 2 back while he's there.

How good are you at fiber glassing?
