Overdrive button

Hello, new to all of this: Purchased a 2007 Ranger w/auto transmission. The "button" on the shift lever for disengaging the overdrive is missing. I can push the "indent" (nub inside the missing housing) to engage/disengage the overdrive. I'm looking to find a replacement "button" (if that's what it's called), but don't have a part number. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't see just the button, only the entire assembly. The Amazon unit comes up in a Ranger search, but the last version looks more like the one on my 04. Maybe you can pry one off at the junkyard and stick it back on yours with silicon.

The junkyard suggest comes to mind, several say they won't separate the "button" from the shifter. Thanks for the reply.

I would leave it alone. I inadvertently ingauge that danged button every time I sift to reverse.

SteeringColumn ShiftLever ODButton 2WireCable is a NotoriousFailureItem;
gets pinched & opens\shorts where it comes out of Stem tube & turns down Column.
Recommend double insulating 2WireCable in that area with HeatShrink &\or Scotch33 ElecTape.
