I use iron sights on my shotgun, they can't really shoot far enough for a scope to be an advantage and more often than not IMO they are a hinderance more than a help.

I have a cheap tasco on my .22 (Mossberg 702 Plinkster) I like it for that, I do have look under rings on it so I still have a backup if conditions are not right for a scope.

Everything else I have has iron or fiber optic depending on what they came with.

Yep

Potato/Po-ta-to. Your point of aim is still the tip of the post. I'm guessing that is your 243?
That's the .243 I'll play with it after Saturday passing off the banner to Hazmat. I like that one. It shoots really flat.

Depends on the gun and what you're using it for.

On my AR I've got a 4-14x scope, I'm using WARNE quick detach AR rings, I'd also like to get an Eotech for it as well.

On my SKS I like the iron sights.

My .17HMR is currently between scopes but it will be getting the same one my AR has with WARNE rings.

My 22 is fun with iron sights but I'm probably going to get a 3-9x scope for it.

My Saiga 12 is OK with iron sights but factory ones are too low, I'm probably going to go with HK sights.

lol, I'd love an ACOG, but my budget doesn't agree.

I always wondered how good those quick-detach mounts worked, guess that answers my question if you're happy with 'em.

One guy is looking to have something done to a Taurus Raging Bull in .44 mag, but he can't decide if he wants a scope or red dot and voiced the thought that it would be nice if he could have both and a mount that would let it swap out easy. I've been looking to see if there is something available that could be grafted onto his gun. Almost been inclined to suggest just sticking with a red dot but I dunno.
The LaRue QD mounts are Very good, but be prepaired to shell out more $$$ for them. But they are some of the best mounts on the market
