What are the red and blue feed lines higher up on the wall for, what will they feed?

I've now been in my house for 10 years as of the 7th and have gotten kudos from people from the neighborhood, it does the heart good...

Some of the big intimidating projects get less bad over time, a lot of stuff doesn't phase me much anymore...

I added a utility sink to my laundry room as there was a drain and two water outlets next to the washer and dryer, I bought one from the habitat for humanity re-store and plumbed it all up nice and good, tried it out for the first time and it just drained into the wall... turns out someone replumbed the drain for the washer and just left the sink drain just cut off in the wall for some reason... I hate people... :)

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
I put a “utility sink” in the laundry room in my old house. I say “utility sink” because it wasn’t one of those cheap plastic slop sinks. I went to a restaurant supply store and bought a nice stainless steel industrial kitchen sink for a few bucks more than a new plastic slop sink.

That's where the tankless hotwater heater is going. I was originally going to put in in the vanity on the other side of the wall, but I didn't have the required clearance around it, so I put it inthr bathroom and mounted up on the wall away from small children.

What are you going to do when the wall fills up?

Just what are you going to be doing with small children in there?

Conveniently it leaks to the inside instead of filling up... It's been on the list of things for like 5 years, not a whole lot of room to tee it in... the most likely case is to move the sink to the shop once I get water to it but I gotta trench to the septic tank when I do that...

I re-used the sink that was in there and replaced the faucet and drain. There wasn't room for a vanity so I didn't see any point in wasting money on a new sink.

Today is probably the first time this sink has had water flowing through it in a decade or more. Still a lot of work to do.

I wish whoever originally built this bathroom would have put the sink and toilet on the same wall. This is a really poor layout. I would have to put up a 2x4 stud wall up behind the toilet to run the sink drain, and there isn't enough room between the toilet and cinderblocks for a 2x4 wall.

Probably could have had the drain pipe simply go left into the wall or had a cabinet under the sink?

Ya, probably. I'm probably going to kick myself for not moving it to the other wall, but as much aggravation as this project has caused me, I'm not starting over now. It's still better than having to walk out and go to the house.

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
It's still better than having to walk out and go to the house.
. . . and it's even better than peeing in the alley, I suppose.

Your work really looks good, Jim. You should have been a plumber; you'd be rich and retired by now.

Afterthought, but wasn’t the toilet wall the original back wall of that building? And then there was another addition?

I’ll bet you the reason the sink is on the wing wall is so they could run the feed plumbing on the inside of the building and not one of the outside walls.

Not important, just a thought.
