I just recently bought a 98 ranger and the left half of my instrument cluster lights (the fuel gauge and temp) don't turn on. its not a blown fuse or light ive changed both. I'm assuming its a wiring problem but I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this issue before or has some tips. thanks

Welcome to TRS :)

1998 Instrument Cluster wiring below

Lower part of diagram
You will see there are 6 bulbs, and two 12volt wires, 3 bulbs on each
12volts for both comes from the dimmer, but if one of the wires has a bad contact in/at that connector then 3 bulbs would be out

And the cluster itself can have a broken trace

Just FYI, 1996 thru 2003 Ranger/Mazda B-series Clusters are interchangeable, plug and play
And all Rangers were wired for a tachometer, clusters with tach just cost extra on some models
