In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I thought there was a special camper model that had a dually?

The Roll-A-Long had a dually axle. IIRC the dually setup used was a conversion kit using Toyota Buddy parts.

I don't count birthday's anymore...just happy to be looking down at the ground instead of looking up
Back in the early 80's when small pickup's came out there were a ### of aftermarket companies that came out with dually kits for them.
There were also a lot of truck camper companies that made campers for the small pick up's and advertised heavily in the RV magazines, along with the dually kits.
You could even get them from JC Whitney.
Problem with them is they would adapt the stock rear end, which was never intended to hold up to that much weight.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Can't tell if this is an old camper converted to a flatbed, or someone's creation. Did ranger come as a dually option? Or was that an aftermarket add on?
I’m going to say that’s someone creation. The rear axle looks like an old Toyota cab/chassis dually rear (6 lug) and the front is 5 lug. Any self-respecting company would at least try to match the lug patterns.

It also has the effect of giving the tire a larger amount of leverage against the bearing, which causes increased wear on the axle shaft bearings.

I've never seen a 6 lug full floating axle but I'm not really Toyota savvy. :dunno:

There were actually quite a few of them made. Even Uhaul had them...
