I have an 82 Chevy Blazer 4x4 with a 350 and th400 with a 208 t-case. When I got it I had a push button start, which runs directly off the battery and a messed up steering column. I have since replaced the column with one for a 74 truck. All of the wires hooked up the same. However when you turn the key on nothing happens. The truck did not start with the old column either. My main problem is that since the truck will not start with the ignition and when you turn the key on none of the acc. work like the blower motor, radio and anything else, which runs of the ignition switch. Any ideas on what to do or how to fix my problem. You only have to have the key on to unlock the column with will run with the key off.

Also my trans linkage is messed up. It was before replacing the column. If I adjust the linkage out I have P, R and N. If I move it around I have R, N and Drive. I have all of the gears in the trans if you shift it by hand from underneith the truck.

Any Ideas on how to fix my problems would be great thanks.

Well I was able to fix my wiring problem by tracking down a fuseable link that was not hooked up.

I have a friend who looked at my linkage and he said it all looks fine. He said the problem seems to be on the inside of my trans. He said the linkage inside the tranny seems loose. He said to pull the pan and tighten the linkage from there. I tried to find some info online to look and see what he was talking about but with no luck.

Any help would be great
Thanks Emil
