95 4.0 automatic transmission questions

When I first joined I was given some info on my truck. I was told the following and I have a few questions.
I was told I have a BW1354 transfer case, usually electric shift, so 1354e If Automatic its a 4R55E

Do you know what transmissions years and models are compatible with my truck? I have a 95, 4.0, auto, 4x4


I am new to the ranger game and I don't know anything about it right now. I am going to need a tranny rebuild or a new one and I would love to have options. Also, are the transmissions stamped so I can tell what they are?

If you're unsure if it's an automatic I suppose you're not manually shifting gears, so my guess is you have an automatic shift
Since you have a transfer case My guess would be a 4WD automatic transmission, presumably 4R55e

You were asking about a trusted repair shop, in my experience those words too seldom go together :/

Someone gave you a recommendation in another thread, if you could connect with that person you might have a chance of coming out fairly well

Your drivers side door should have a label with your VIN Identification Number
Other specification on that label will identify the vehicles paint colors, trim levels etc, the lower line I think will have you transmission and suspension code numbers that you can do a search for to know what each one is

You needent supply your entire VIN to find the information you are looking for
