What does every one know about supras and celicas? Specifically a 2nd gen 3sgte celica and a 7mgte supra. friends mom has a celica gt for sale for 4 grand but ive been seeing some nice 7mgte supras with racing suspensions p and ps bored over. the works. for only about 2 grand more... and im a fan of straight 6 and supra.

To me the supra seems like a far funner car.

I havent looked into iether engine too much cuz im not a 4 cylinder fan and i prefer the 2jzgte.

Btw both cars are 5 speed

I haved worked on the non-turbo supra in the early 90's.The straight six was a solid motor.I did have to replace the motor in one. The customer was racing someone on the way back from mardi-gras and the #6 piston blew off it's crown. He drove it back to Mi.He just complained that he lost some power.I think his was a 90 or 91.I did like the supra's,if I remember right they were a bit on the heavy side.

One of my lads does a lot of work on celicas and supras so if you have specific questions I could ask him. That being said, the celica is a smaller more nimble car than the big heavy supra. Head gaskets and turbos can be expensive and time consuming to fix. They are both fairly reliable until you start pushing the boost, then the clutches can be hard to keep together, especially on the supras. I've seen some pretty impressive figures on the dyno with either of the cars. It really depends what you're looking for in a car, if you want something to throw around bendy roads the celica is the way to go, if you want straight line performance the supra is the way to go.

My credo
I need more sleep.
I don't know much about the Toyota Supra, but I can say that is one of my favorite cars, a beauty to look at, and they are awesome! Expensive too, I nice one or modified one will run you 20-40k. Unless you buy and earlier model, there about 5-10k.
