2007 Ranger XLT Limited Edition

I’m having some kind of electrical issue, when I try to start my truck, my instrument cluster only shows the red lock/truck icon. Fan and lights work fine, and on occasion is will all of a sudden start when turning the key. Battery and alternator are fine !
need help !!

No ! Just the red icon occasionally showing.

Have you tried wiggling the gear shifter... or try starting it in neutral?

Yes I have tried both

Being it's intermittent... I would ensure you have good connections at the ignition switch.

Thanks for your help, I’ve resigned to having it towed to a garage. Hopefully they will have it up and running soon.

As a follow up on the electrical issue of my 2007 ranger XLT. Turns out it’s the control body module, and the manufacturer no longer makes them. Now the search to find one.
