be carefull, acts of war are not covered by insurance.Urban Warfare?
Could you go after the owner of the rental property for repair costs?Yeah, not a great situation and all things considered, we’re pretty lucky to be unharmed. Happened at an Airbnb that’s apparently a known underage “party house”. Multiple complaints from neighbors and it finally came to this. The negligent host apparently doesn’t even have a license to operate a short-term rental.
Anyways, I have a little more peace of mind knowing the truck is on its way to being fixed, although with every mechanic in town backlogged way out, it may be a couple weeks before anyone can even look at it.
That’s the plan. I have very little confidence the kids who did this will be caught, but I also know Airbnb has liability coverage for property damage. The owner apparently doesn’t even have a license to run a short-term rental.Could you go after the owner of the rental property for repair costs?
I haven't heard much good about that company. At least from those who ever had to file a claim. Erie insurance is another with a bad reputation.I actually do have comprehensive coverage, so I agree, but so far Progressive is doing their usual dance. No rental, “oh, we’ll take care of you - once you meet your deductible.” No police report out yet which doesn’t help. I just have a feeling progressive isn’t going to put any effort into chasing down the liable party unless the truck is totaled, which seems unlikely, but yeah, I plan on pushing back on their bs, and if I end up having to eat the cost of this, I’m done with them, and they can keep their “thanks for being a loyal customer for ten years” crap.
Uh oh. That doesn't sound good. Good luck. That’s the plan. I have very little confidence the kids who did this will be caught, but I also know Airbnb has liability coverage for property damage. The owner apparently doesn’t even have a license to run a short-term rental.
Thanks. So far they’ve been very dismissive, so I’ve just been telling everyone including local news that Airbnb looks the other way when its hosts allow their rentals to turn into “problem” houses that attract this shit, and finally just now I got a reply from an actual human. So, we’ll see how it goes.Uh oh. That doesn't sound good. Good luck.
I've had terrible luck with Progressive and Gieco, but great luck with Erie. I've had a couple of cars get totaled by Erie in the past few years for various reasons, and not had issues getting payed.I haven't heard much good about that company.
