New tires. New exhaust and semi new battery. He says it idles high (not super concerned about that) but after about 15 min of driving he says it goes into like a "limp mode" and loses a bunch of power...will only go like 15mph

Besides the cat...what else could this be? Just getting an idea before i jump into something stupid i dont even need.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I don't know other than to say "pull the codes".

Looks nice. I'd drive that any day.

Another vote for a vacuum leak. Looks nice though, worth the 1000 bucks

I second this- don't know much about the early ford EFI engines, but for it's age and $1000 it seems to be in great shape!

He seems pretty eager to off it. I could pry get it for 800.

Either way....im really leaning toward it...its just 3 hrs away. Ive kinda been thinkin about offin my F250 and buying an older 1/2 ton for a while. I dont tow anything heavier then my farmall cub anymore.

Figure for 1000 bucks i can bring it home and get it running good and see if its a good truck, then off the 250 for 4 or so and make 3k, or if the 150 dont work out off it for 1500 or so lol.

The early EFI stuff is fairly easy to work on, especially compared to mixer EFI.
I would run it.
