Rock Auto discount??

So I'm new to this part of parts buying. I generally will try hundreds (sarcasm) of local shops before I go to the web for stuff. At my wits end, and to my wife's suggestion of "don't your online Ranger buddies know where to get stuff like that?" ( I love her) and I immediately thought about the rock auto discount from this site. The InfamousNissan.com site aslo has a 5% discount code. Well I do not know where this code goes, I was never asked for a voucher or discount code and ended up paying full price. lol. even though 2wheel cylinders from "RA" was still less than one wheel cylinder from ANY parts place in town, who had to order it anyways. fml. SO where and how would I use the discount code because I plan to do it again ...SOON.

Good info. I did not know the forum had a discount let alone how to use it. Would of been handy when I replaced the driver’s side catalytic converter on the 2011.

yep, been a RA customer for over 10 years now. for the most part, they got everyone beat on prices, but watch your shipping. they will juggle parts around and all of a sudden you are getting shipped from 3 or 4 locations and spending an enormous amount on shipping. try to get all your parts or most of them from one or 2 warehouses.

Sometimes Amazon has better deals than RA if you look hard enough and just can't get what you need in less than 3 shipments, so keep that in mind.

best RA deal that I got, 1994 Intrepid, needed back brakes (drum) got the shoes, spring kit, both wheel cylinders and both drums for just a hair over 100 bucks shipped to me about 9 years ago. and it was not all the econo line of parts either

I've been using RA for about 17-18 years. I think they started about 20 years ago. I like the product info they have and the selection. They have more OE brand parts now too. I do shop around and watch the shipping charges like mentioned above. Sometimes even places like Summit, Amazon or Ebay have better prices when you factor in shipping. I like RA for things like oil filter since I like to order 6-8 at a time...

If you just google RA discount, you'll get all sorts of codes to enter. All for the 5%.

If you set up an Account on RockAuto after your first order they will send you a discount code of your own usually good for 30 days. I usually keep this in my email for quick reference but since I do not order every month I have found that the code provided here on TRS has come in handy till I get another order in. BTW your code, the one they send you, is shareable so family and friends can take advantage of it.

5% off is, now, less than my states tax but it is better than nothing off for sure. Tax here used to be 5% which was nice thinking about hey I got it with no tax but well... Money grubbers. ya know.

Thanks for that info, and my state tax is 7.5%, so 5% doesn't even cover that, but it lets them know who their customers are and where they getting their customers from

You probably already know this, but the Florida "state" sales tax is 6.0%. The other 1.5% you pay is from Leon County and/or the City.

No i did not. News to me, i just know that i pay $1.07 for a $.99 anything but food. NO TAX ON GROCERIES

You'd only pay $1.06 here. Okaloosa County only adds on 0.5%, but they have a higher fuel tax. I think Walton County is 1.0%.

If you have a RA username and password, login. Place items in cart. Go to 'My Account' and all available discounts are right there. Click the blue code and it is automatically pasted into the 'Where did you hear about us' box at checkout.
