I recently bought a 1999 ford ranger with a 4.0. After only owning it for about 5 days the check engine light came on. P0174-lean on bank 2. Truck runs fine with code on. So i figured i would start with the MAF sensor seeing thats the easiest to replace. And yes I’m pretty sure this has nothing to do with the code since only one side is coming up. Figured it wouldn’t hurt to replace it.
Bought a Delphi MAF.
I installed it on the truck and now it won't rev. It will idle fine but when I step on the gas it wants to cough/cutout and die. Release the gas pedal and it goes back to idling fine.
I put the old MAF back in and the truck runs fine. Tried new one again to make sure it wasn't installed wrong and still has same issue. So I went back to the old MAF so he can at least drive it.
Anyone have any ideas? Did I get a faulty MAF?
