I ride this. I love the old straight-up styling. No raked forks or forward controls. It's fuel injected and tuned for low-end power so it has no trouble getting up to 60mph turning onto the state highway. It's honest--a simple standard with a single cylinder. Reminds me of old British bikes, which the old Japanese Honda 350s and such were styled after. It's the only thing like it built now. A brilliant little machine. It's not a 250 v-twin with a 27" seat height pretending to be a Harley. It's what you find in the Encyclopedia Britannica under
motorcycle.
If it wasn't for the font of the emblem and model designation I would have thought it was a restored older bike, I never would have guessed anyone made bikes like that anymore.
Here is mine, 1976 Honda XL-350.
It did run great but I let it sit for a couple years, now it needs, the tank cleaned out, a carb kit, throttle/chock cables and of course the rear tire is still bald.
The guy I got it from had pretty much forgetten about it in his corncrib and had lost the title in the 20 years since the last time he rode it... so it is basically just a dirtbike. Since I have just about gotten myself an acreage to do it justice to ride around I hope to get it going again.
