each speaker is engineered for a specific size box, typically the speaker will come with instructions on how to build the perfect size and shape of box too. size is more important than shape, but it is still very important

I want that square MTX now too lol. When you build a box, how do you know how much air is inside? Like you said you need between .66 and 1cu. ft, how do you know when you have that?
the air inside the box is a volume. to calculate this you need to take the (in our situation) the length width and height of the *inside* of the box. so l*w*h=volume. you also have to calculate for the amount of volume the basket of the sub has. i think the kicker has a displacement of .057cu.ft so you take

vofbox-vofbasker=volumeinside

(sorry im an engineering major all i know are equations)

im going to make a build thread for my box, i plan on it being a work of art.iv never done something like this so im going to take my time "measure twice, cut once".

Ok sweet I was going to ask if you were gunna do a build thread on the box. Is it going to be on here or are you gunna submit it for tech library or what?

ill probably just start a thread in the audio section, it wont be technical enough for the library, but it will a highly customized box i plan to make it fit exactly into the hole where the jump seat came from, and im going to try and make it anti theft. some how bolted to the floor. or something, maybe an ADT alarm system who knows.

ha, fiberglass would be nice but iv never done it, i looked at lowes today 3/4 mdf is 31 dollars i have to go to freaking michigan christmas day so i have no time this week to build a box or get the sub so looks like the first of the year will be busy. im going to bedline my floors too i seem to have a leek in my floor pan on the passanger side.

i had my brother go to the junk yard to get me a new headlight switch i broke mine, and he found a center console for me while he was out there. its in pretty good shape no cracks, but the armrest is gross so im going to re upholster it as well as the cloth peices on my door with black vinyl

i also went camping up in the ozarks no wheeling, though my truck had a hard enough time climbing those hills *loaded* with a bunch of gear. i was very satisfied with its performance though 370 miles round trip half of that through the mountains

got a few updates, my mom managed to back into my truck, royally pissed me off. insurance wont cover it,i only have liablility, she has full coverage but it cant cover two cars in the same family. not a bad dent but its the principal of the matter. i was going to put some money into my truck this summer but now that that happened i dont feel like putting into something that just gets wrecked by other people.

i also installed another 12v socket not too technical but it looks legit, IMO

last but not least i have theses bad boys to put on once i get a few more pay checks. bought them off a guy for 30 bucks but it'll cost a bit to put them on though.

that gives you an excuse to make your mom pay for a bad ass custom rear bumper.

haha false, they dont have the money, she hit me two weeks ago her car is just getting fixed, then my dad gets rear ended by a drunk driver on thursday, he has to go in for an estimate today, but its probably totalled 2005 4 door f150 so now we have to buy him a new vehicle. which leaves my ass with a busted truck. and we got an estimate on my truck, 1800 in damages to me.

Or you could just buy a 300$ offroad bumper and put that on there... It will cover the dent...

That's not too bad. You could buy a new fender or do what weezl said and cover it up.
