Well I've been on here for awhile and it looks like I might have enought stuff to do a build thread.I'm a college student so funds are really tight but I have alittle left over after the semester so it goes into the ranger.Anyways I have an 86 4x4 with a 2.9 and a 5spd.asingle cab shortbed. My plans are to make a streetable 4x4 but it be very off road capable. put on a winch bumper, rear bumper or custom flatbed, and and headache rack, plus some kind of decent paint job. I'll be postin pics up soon.

OKay so pics are here had to get them off my other comp.So the first are when I first got it...

Then the first thing after that I took the grille off and painted it flat black.

It don't look too bad for a hair lip and a rattle can uh?haha

The danger all primered up.

Couldn't keep it clean for very long so...

Just some flexin in the yard..literally

Some time passed(two years to be exact)and she got painted...

And then my really epic failed attempt to make a tube bumper. It was uglier than hell but damn that could pull out a powerstroke.(Trust me I tried it)

I tor it off and put on a better one.40 bucks from a wreckin yard.

I put lights on the push bar but can't find pics and very shortly after the lift went on...

Grandpa couldn't just watch for once lol.

Front is done.

Back is done.

With a set of 33's up against it.

Her kinda perttied up...She sits that way right now.

Hope yall like it

Thanks, I like the color too but i scrartched it up pretty good this summer. But i might just repaint it the same color. The paint was actually from an old racecar we did.

on the project dirty white boy we were turnin 33's with a 2.8 auto and 3.73's. I wouldnt say it was kosher...at all. But it did it. didnt see much highway's either. i used to run a 89 ranger stx on 33's (not sure of the gear's) but it did just fine. we were runnin a 3'' BL at first and it did rub the very front and very back of the fender's and the radius arm's. at full lock.

I completely understand if you dont wanna cut your fender's up as your's are in pretty good shape

there is the other option to remove the fender's all together for later use HaHaHaHa

So i think i'm gonna run 33's... It just looks cooler than 31's and theyre about the same price. but i have an issue i dont want it to rub so 3 inch bodylift seems like the way to go.How hard is it to do?

Looks like you're fixing it up well. The 40 dollar STX front bar is a steal!

33's and a D28 = trouble for off roading or any 4x4ing. Now with a D35 with the upgraded u-joints and what not, now your going to be fine.

Mine has 5 inches of suspension lift in the front and Im running 32's and it only rubs when I turn to fast or hit a bump while turning on the very fronts of the fender.
