You need a chip or a programmer of some kind.

the limiter is there to keep u safe, over 100mph rangers arent that stable.
my 2.5 has the limiter higher than the 01+, it kicks in when the needle barelly touches the 100mph mark, and going that fast isnt that safe, unless u have lowered suspension and z rated tires

Driving 90 mph in a Ranger and what happens if you have a blowout? You would doing the barrel roll.

my buddie has a ranger with a turbo 4" lift and 33's going 115 on a dirt road and it was absolutely fine. Its ur truck,do what u want but ur gonna have to buy a chip for that bitch

I've had my '94 2.3 up to 80. She felt pretty stable. Now, 90, that might be another story!

I've always felt that the speedometer going up to 120 in my 2.3 was, uh, extremely optimistic on the part of the designers.

The only way my ranger is going over 100 is if I cut a hole out of the floorboard under the gas pedal.

if u still want to do this then go with a BAMA chip. i recently bought one for mine and it does all sorts a wounders:icon_thumby:

Yes, a tune can remove rev and speed limiters. I'd have issues recommending BAMA though, my experience was less than pleasant. BTW, how many months did it take for you got get the programmer?

It took about 3 weeks actually. i havent had any problems with it yet..

yeah ive had my 91 up to 89...and that all i can get out of her with about 500 pounds of sh it in the bed...on a dry run i could believe she may get up to 95....but there is no way in H E double hockey stix that im gunna push her that hard for that long....0-60 is no prob..but once u hit 70...its like she is sayin...I DONT FEEL LIKE IT DA MM IT!!no!no!ugh...ok fine...then she will cruise at 80 all day long...idk..they have a mind of thier own..now her tach is messin up on me..prolly going to have to put a new cluster in it soon..tach is readin hella low rpms.
