Sealant on ECT sensor?

Should I put any kind of sealant on the threads of the ECT on my 87 2.9 Ranger??? My Ford manual doesn't say...it's got two wires to it so I'm thinking a little brush-on teflon pipe sealant would be good. What says you???

if its two wire, you can put regular teflon tape or paste on it.

the single wire units are grounded through the threads, so those are the ones you need not get carried away with the teflon on.
