I'm a little confused. First you say you have a transfer case. Then you say the truck doesn't have one?

CV joints weren't used on the front shafts until 98 or so. The STX Highrider and the 1354 cases had a double cardan u-joint setup, which isn't the same as a CV joint.

The regular old 1350 that you claim to have would have a slip yoke front output. It will look like a big hole in the front of the case, but the drive shaft is supposed to slip into it, not bolt on.

Which trans do you have? I have a short front shaft.

Find a local driveline shop. Most parts stores will not be able to get that. Even Ford will tell you that you can only get it with a drive shaft.

I'll see if I can find a number tomorrow at work though.

Did some digging over lunch and here is what I found. They are out there.

Part number is E3tz 4782-A.

Call 304-725-7031. That is a dealer in Charles Town WV, they show one and it is the closest one to you that I could find.

Good luck with the JY... that shaft was only used on the 87-89 STX and only when someone checked the High Ryder option box on the order form.

The part numbers for the centering yoke were different. That makes me think the U-joints are probably not the same, but like Sno, I've never had a pair to set up next to each other.

Go to NAPA's site and look up both joints, if the numbers are different the parts are different.
