Was returning from local video store when I was pulling into my driveway. Driveway is on a pretty steep incline. I slowed to a near stop and put truck in 1st gear to climb steep driveway. Just as I got chugging up I think I heard a pop and suddenly it stopped pulling. Now truck won't move in any gear and when I raise foot off clutch pedal there is almost a medium pitched metallic grinding sound. Clutch and trans seemed surprisingly fine until this. HELP!

Off the top of my head? You may busted the drive shaft.

Not necessarily. Those CV style ones suck ass and tend to strip out the tulip. They do more or less what you described but look fine when you just look at them.

Pop it in 4x4. If it moves you broke the rear shaft.

You're a genius man. Went out locked hubs popped it in 4lo and crawled right up driveway. I've heard for years those driveshafts were like wet noodles my sisters old 89 BII had to have one put in. Do you think all I have to replace is the shaft itself? Do you know of a good place to get a more reliable replacement? Thank my friend you are the man!
