LUK seems to be the best bang for the buck.

I personally have not heard of Bahnhof.

^ I second that. LUK is one of the primary manufacturers of the OEM clutch components found in Ford and many other vehicles. Bought one myself.

My credo

I am happy with the LUK rep-set I bought on line. I shopped around and replaced everything between the crankshaft and the clutch pedal. I prolly could have gotten away with just a clutch plate. So, if you are just trying to sneak in a clutch, then the make shouldn't be an issue. You will be back sooner or later for the rest of the stuff. I was a victim of mission creep. Not since I have had bugs , have I had a car so easy to get parts for. :D

LUK is decent.. as previously posted, it is one of fords primary manufacturers.

i noticed there is a self adjusting and a regular one at the auto parts store..

i know it sounds self explanatory, but what is the difference.. whats better.. i will probably be needing a clutch very soon.. mine has 136k and starting to slip when it feels like it.

I personally think that the term SELF ADJUSTING is a marketing gimmick. The pressure plate automatically takes up for the wear as the disc gets thinner. It is once the disc has gotten too thin or has been glazed from abuse that things start slipping. I suppose that sometimes you could attribute slipping to weakening of the springs in the pressure plate but that too would be from riding and purposely slipping the clutch causing it to heat excessively. Remember spring steel loses it's spring once you get it too hot. Another thing that places a load of wear on clutch discs is a shot pilot bearing. Make certain you replace it any time you have the engine and transmission separated.

I used a Sachs kit last time I did a clutch. Look exactly like the OEM LUK clutch and it never gave me any issues.
