P.S. I have around 6k in mine (302 swap and that includes the 347 cost), and I did all the work myself,except for the machining on the block. And its still not what I was wanting...........
I did just about all you did too, and wasn't till I pulled the three duece 331 out and replaced it with my "Frankenstein" 5.0 that I finally knew I had what I'd wanted all along. The Frankenstein 5.0 is a roller 5.0 from a 93 E150 van, cam is a later model F4TE roller, heads are ported (by me) E7TE's, Cobra rockers (bought used with 100K miles on em), Intake is a Ford A321 topped with a Holley 570 SA. This motor is dead reliable, easy on fuel, & fun to drive. I'm beginning to wonder how long this thing's going to last. it shows no sign of ever giving up.
