your advice

P.S. I have around 6k in mine (302 swap and that includes the 347 cost), and I did all the work myself, except for the machining on the block. And its still not what I was wanting...........

I did just about all you did too, and wasn't till I pulled the three duece 331 out and replaced it with my "Frankenstein" 5.0 that I finally knew I had what I'd wanted all along. The Frankenstein 5.0 is a roller 5.0 from a 93 E150 van, cam is a later model F4TE roller, heads are ported (by me) E7TE's, Cobra rockers (bought used with 100K miles on em), Intake is a Ford A321 topped with a Holley 570 SA. This motor is dead reliable, easy on fuel, & fun to drive. I'm beginning to wonder how long this thing's going to last. it shows no sign of ever giving up.:tease:

the truck didnt have anything to do with me losing my license ....... anheiser bush and a cop having a bad day did

Stupid cops! Damn them for doing their job!

Leave the 4.0.

Look at the truck out the window for 6 months and then when you get back in to drive it, it will seem like a new vehicle.

I vote to leave the 4.0, if your wanting more power for wheeling, just re-gear..

I had a 85 BII with a built 302, I liked the 4.0 better anyway, worked just as well for crawlin' and it ate about half the fuel

not to mention that if you hop that 4.0 like it was on steroids and put lockers in with a little re-gearing and a manual tranny you'll still get better fuel milage than a V-8. remember bigger ain't always better, and with the right parts i have seen them 4.0's push some insane horsepower.but it's ultimately up to you and how deep your wallet is:dntknw:
