I plan on getting sum headers for my 2.9 and making it true duals with 2 magnaflow high-flow cats goin to an X-PIPE :headbang: All with 2.5" pipe. going to either a magnaflow, flowmaster, or jus straight piped to come out each side b4 the tires...

Jus wondering what everyone thinks about this idea. Ive never seen or heard of anyone doin x-pipes on a 2.9. So if anyone has it done or if u kno of anyone who does then let me kno how it sounds.

relocating the fuel tank just for the exhaust sounds a little rediculous if you ask me (you know the BII tank doesnt just bolt-in, right?). id just run the pipes out behind each tire or streight out the back.

ive got true duals with an H-pipe on my 3.0...i think it sounds nice...

if your going to move the tank (which is absolutely rediculous) your better off putting a fuel cell in the bed. my advice is after the tires (youll prob have to remove the spare tire rack) and its just a lil more pipe and dumpover, not much more costly that way. hell if you remove the tire rack you have room for mustang style short tipped flows or whatever muffler you choose, i was going to try this myself one day but im going forced induction...lol

yea i had my mind on something else i read first reply. i had some spare pipe lyin around so i got up underneath my truck and tried visualizin everything. and moving the tank is something i dont want to do. And Wicked_Sludge those were good ideas but ive already thought of them. i dont like pipes comin out the back on small trucks, no offense... im more than likely goin to jus get a magnaflow high-flow to replace my stock cat and 2.5" exhaust to either a turn down or comin out the passenger side infront of the rear tire.

rurouni20xx.. yea those sound like good ideas too about the exhaust but i jus aint a fan of the exhaust straight out the back on a small truck... forced induction.. what u plan of gettin?

well my tire rack is removed so im going to go 3 inch off the turbo to high flow cat then back and split above the dif and two pipes running 45 degrees behind the tires w/ 2 2 1/2 fart cans on each side side by side. partially to cut down on the noise but also keep my flow and look dif. ill ascii draw it here:
turbo
I
trans/cat
I

axle
// \\

see what i mean?

well thats different. i c what u mean. that would b pretty dang unique. thats gona be bada** thou

lol.. man either way ur gona have a pretty sick setup.. and a turbo 3.3 stroker is jus insane... as a matter a fact i was plannin on makin my 2.9 a stroker sometime down the road and get a 4.0 lower intake put so i can run a supercharger!

That it does, I think that 2.5" may be to large for a stock motor. Run duel 2.25" with magnaflow mufflers. Everyone runs blowmasters... Just my .02

rurouni20xx , you really want to run fart cannons on a truck?

to each his own...but that seems like a cryin shame...:dunno:

yea Dangeranger01, everyone runs the flowmaster. They sound good on certain cars. But i think i will stay with the magnaflow. yea im still tryin to figure out exactly what size pipe i want to run. i heard 2.25 or 2.5 is good. but any bigger than a 2.5 is a bad idea. either way it wont be that long cuz im going to run it out infront of the rear tire on the passenger side.

well how else do you recommend me running the motor w/o sacrificing the flow and keeping the noise down? everything is in planning stages as you well know and changes can be made. i havent bought anything really except for the parts to do an m50 conversion minus the tranny.
