X-Pipe on a 2.9!

Yea im in the same boat u r. jus planning right now. thats why im tryin to get ppls opinions. that way i can come up with a solid idea... you could probably run 2 magnaflows on each side the way ur sayin. just instead of takin up room with the big bulky muffler. u could get the ones that have a smaller diameter. i think that would sound better and more unique for the set up that ur goin to run Rurouni20xx..

i thought of that too but i have a friend w/ a stock 3.0 in an 04 and he has the single in dual out magnaflow and it sounds really hollow, dont really care fore the sound. if i could get more throat out of my super 44 id run 2 of those but i dont think id get the sound i want. i had dual fart cans and they did pretty good for me in the past thats why i wanted to go back w/ those. only other thing i can think of would be like a flow 10 series for the flow properties as a fart can. any other suggestions? oh and btw we get mac mufflers discounted at my work are those good on a v6? my coworker has one on his 5.4 and it sounds good but dont know how it does on a 6.

if your going with a turbo, just run straight pipe. turbos muffle the exhuast enough that it wont be hideously loud...and with a straight pipe youll get to hear the turbo whine.

fart cans are constructed basically the same as glasspacks, they are just covered with chrome to stick on the end of the exhaust system, instead of in the middle like a real muffler should be. if you want the same sound you had before, run a couple of glasspacks with normal, non-rice exhaust tips.

i see and that makes sense i just hate glasspacks. ill see what i can do w/ a strait pipe and a decent chrome tip, maybe do a dual split in the same arrangement as i was planning b4.

Also don't forget that the 2.9L only has one oxygen sensor. :D
