wtf..im about to give up on this thing

so i came out of a mudhoel after wheelign all day and the battery lite came one and the voltage was low..when i floor it the motor wont go past 2000 rpms and the motor will surge when u are doing this and backfire through the intake.sometimes if u go reaaaaly slow on the petal u can get it up past 2000 rpms but when u get it up there and u floor it the rpms drop rite back down.i had another member of the rangerstation over and wasnt sure what the problem was either.can someone please help.im about to junk this damn truck.every week theres somethign else wrong with the engine

my 88 did that and i turned out to be the o2 sensor...... bizzare

hmmm the same prioblem with the battery and stuff? how did u know the os sensor was bad?

i did a key on engine running test then took the o2 sensor out and got a new one and no problems yet after 3 months

i dunno maybe it shorted out the o2 sensor my engine was almost completely submerged

Yea i can vouch for this problem, i was in Ryan's driveway when we were trying to get it running well. I cant figure it out at allllllll

so if the problem lies within the o2 sensor..if we unplug the sensor,maybeit will runn better..dude..u wanna come over and help me with that..i also want to check the plugs and see if they are getting starved off fuel,maybe fuel fliter?

If the supply voltage is low, of course a computer controlled engine is going to act up.


Thats like me being mad if my engines won't tolerate diamond dust dumped down the intake.


Perhaps you can check everything in the charging system....but if the truck spends time in a pool, the electrical system isn't going to be happy about it.

so u suggest its something within the charging system..such asthe alternator..is there anyway to tell if the alternator is bad?

well the o2 sensor being bad can control the engine in a sense if the engine isnt running rite the the charge system isnt working at full capacity and therefore you battery isnt getting charged

well we tested allot of things..we unpluuged the o2 and it made no diffrence.same with the maf.we changed the battey no diffrence.its getting fuel pressure at the rail.just when we are about to pull the truck out of my garage the truck wont starts..it just cranks.just pressure at the rail again..pressure is good.it kicked over once for a second and that was it..i have the worst headache i have ever had right now..its just so frustrating wit hthis motor.the spark plugs were a little white whewn i checked them..so i was thinkin gmaybe the fuel injectors are clogged?is this possible..somone please give me some suggestions here.please
