Left my house around 4 for a student advisor meeting and wrecked my truck. I came around a blind corner going down a steep hill and there was a fender bender that had backed traffic up all the way to the corner. So I came around the corner, hit the brakes hard, and then when I realized I wasn't gonna stop I swerved left and tried to make it to the emergency lane on the opposite side since there isn't one on the right. Anyhow, I didn't make it. I went head on with a 2005 Chrysler Shitvan.

The van was stuck in gear and had to be towed away. My truck had lost all coolant, but I turned around and drove it home after everything was taken care of. Insurance still hasn't come to look at it, but I hope they don't total it. Even if they do, I'm using the money to fix it myself. The frame's bent a little but it appears to be isolated in front of the crossbeam(or whatever it's called). Accidents suck!

I would put some pics on here but I don't think I can. Oh, and one more thing! The dude in the van told me, the paramedics, the firemen and the police that he was not injured. I just found out today that he has been making trips to the hospital. SonofamotherF'nbitch! I got full coverage, but damnit! I hate people like that. Just scroungin'!

Oh, and one more thing! I went to pick up my rental....I had a bad day. They only had three vehicles there that were less than the 30 dollars a day that my insurance would pay. A chevy that looked like a Geo Metro (don't know what they're called), an Impala, and a Magnum. I asked for the Impala, but one of the other workers said they had just given it away. So the lady stuck me with the Magnum. I'm sorry if any of you got one, but I feel like a damn soccer mom driving this thing!!!!:pissedoff:

damn that sucks. i had the same thing, rearended a hyundai and a few weeks later i recived a letter from my ins company saying that the victim was suing for "pain and suffering from injuries due to whiplash." yeah, sure.

seems to be alot of fawking wrecks lately...i think those S-10 guys are conspireing against us RBV guys. sorry about ur truck, hope all that gets worked out.

theres a guy from canada that just had his truck redone, dont know if hes on this board, (probly) its a blue std cab 2wd 89-92. it was snowy and a semi was over the line and he got off the road with his right tires and the back slid out from under him and he went end over end and backwards into a wooded hillside. saw pictures he posted, he's lucky to be alive. the trucker never stopped.

Ya, Racsan, that was me. Accidents do suck, and TMarsh04, in the bad week durby, I have you beat. But it does suck about the truck. I just wrote mine off completely, I didn't even have to see what the estimate was/is going to be, I know its completly done for.

FYI, 1989 2WD, with 2.9L and 5 speed. $6300 worth of work completed 3 weeks ago, and the appraisal date was next week so I could bump my insurance up to full coverage.

im glad both of you guys are alive, suck about ur trucks. trucks can be replaced, u guys cant, dont forget that.:icon_thumby:. HAPPY THANKSGIVEING to you both, may eveything work out for you:icon_cheers:

Well im glad your both ok, i had a near miss on the way home from school yesterday. I tapped the breaks cause a jackass cut me off and felt an odd, wasnt there a minute ago vibration. I was smart enought to slow down and pull off the next exit ramp, half way up the ramp my front right brake caliper came off. I spun me around and almost put me on the guardrail. I woulda hated for that to happen at 70mph on the freeway. So i look and know what needs to be done, i went to the bed and of course the only tool i forgot was the jack. Road side service stopped and lent me a jack, i took the wheel off, used a vise grip on the break line, removed the line from the caliper, tied it up, put the caliper in the cab, wheel back on and away i went. The only guy that cut me off with three brakes heard about it for a 1/4 mile, I just blew my horn.
