wrangler authority

My understanding was something more like they arn't even made by goodyear, and walmart just leases the name from them... I didn't particularly believe it, but whatever.

Has anyone run these tires in the summertime? Whats tread wear like?

pretty sure walmart doesn't have their own tire factory :P

This was one tire I researched and was scared by pictures I found of a diesel peeling them apart.

i have heard that the 3/4 ton truck tear them to pieces as well thats why i was looking for other opinions, but i think I'll give them a try

yeah but you're not driving a 3/4 ton, you're driving a...quarter ton, big difference :P

The rubber on these tires is soft, so 3/4 ton turbo diesels abuse them quite badly, yes. That seems to be the only people I could find complaining...

For the off-road minded, these tires only have 2-ply sidewalls, which I guess is pretty much the standard for any cheap tire these days, it is still something to think about.

General Grabbers are ten and Runways are six. Both are in the same price range here, Grabbers are only a few bucks more per tire. I REALLY like my Runways better than the BFG's I had in the same size, but they lack traction on hard packed snow compared to Grabbers.

You are mistaking side walls with the tread plys. The authority is 6 ply tread. 2 sidewall. I bet general grabber are two ply sidewalls, but I'm too lazy to look.

also, tread plys used to indicate load rating, but they don't always correlate anymore. Many 10 ply load rated tires don't have 10 plys due to newer, stronger materials.

Readin' too quick I guess. I was shocked at the 2-ply thing thinking you'd pop 'em on a curb.

Yeah, No. 2-ply sidewalls, along with 6ply tread. Most tires are 2-ply sidewalls, its not until you get into the high end tires, like MT/R or Interco tires that you start seeing 3-ply sidewalls.

Honestly, the best all-terrain tire i ever used were called Wheel Track all season or all terrains...not sure where they were from, but they got me through some rough stuff, im sure they were some off-brand, but they were awsome, if i knew where to get them, i would buy them again
