No. That setup isnt going to net you 200hp. Try maybe 10 over stock.

hahah 200 hp out of na 3.0 your funny. it will cost me close to 4k to get 200hp out of my 4.0. if you really want power get a v8 you will get almost the same gas mileage

You'd have to spend several thousand dollars to get 200 hp out of a n/a 3.0. I'd remove the JET module from your list as it's been dyno tested to lose power, and replace it with an x'cal from sct tuned by fred @ rogue performance. Then I'd write Tom Morana a BIG check for stage 3+heads, ported/polished lower intake manifold, box upper intake, and the cam and roller rockers you mentioned. After that, a set of underdrive pulleys from Wayne @stuffforyourranger.com, and an e-fan as well as a full exhaust. You'd probably also find that these mods would require larger injectors, so I'd add those to the list too.

Or you could buy a used whipple kit for a couple grand and get 200+ rwhp with a bolt on.

Hey now, I was 17 this time last year, and I know I wouldnt have tried to get 200+ hp out of a 3.0 then.lol

There are few youngins out there who understand that intakes and exhaust dont add up to jack.lol

Well im kinda new and on the box for mage flow exahust and k&n intakes it saids that it will increase horsepower of 10+

But from other forams i think this to be fulse:dunno:

Alright well how much dose a 4.0 go for???
because i think i should just save up for this and it will give me great gains. I mean compared to the 3.0...

Doing an engine swap is going to be a ton of work. You have to buy the engine, but also a transmission, computer, and wiring harness. If you want a v8, you can pretty much kiss your accessories like a/c goodbye. The total cost would probably be somewhere between $1500 and $5000 depending on where you got your parts, which engine you put in, and how wild you went. And don't forget that an engine swap is NOT a quick easy mod. If you don't have experience, I wouldn't even recommend thinking about it. And your truck would probably be out of commission for a week or two minimum.

Everything costs money. Be patient. Do your school work. Get into a good college/ tech/ vocational school, and get a degree. When you have a decent paying job, then you can play around and go as fast as you can afford. Until then, put your money into a high yield savings account, and stick to cheap mods that will improve your mileage, or make your truck more reliable. Just some friendly advise from a former 17 year old.

you dont need to go to a good college or tech school to swap a v8 into a ranger. my best friend in high school swapped a 454 into a 1500 chevy and sas it all on a high school budget.

In my words man do some research on a v8 swap. it will add up to about the same price as all those mods you want to do. there is tons of info here and tons of people that are more than willing to help you in anyway they can. even drive to your house to turn some wrenches with you. just because your in high school doesnt mean you cant do wild projects or big mods on your truck. i have a lot of friends in high school that did crazy projects. one of my friends competently restored a 67 fairlane 500 and its amazing and he didnt it himself and on a high school budget he started when he was 16 and finished it 2 years later but he worked hard for it.

you can do anything if you put your heart into it and work hard

end rant

Okay man sounds good!!

have you thought about a v8 swap at all? if not do some research i think you will be surprised how cheap you can do it and still come out with a good set up.

first get away from JET chips(worthless) and the CAI(also worthelss). why are you going to put another 3L Tb on a 3L motor???? no performace from a different tb. next a 1.8:1 roller rockers are a bit much on a stock motor try a 1.7:1 you might have to change your cam but you want to change that too so. as for the TB look into a 52 or 60mm TB. next you might want to port and polish the heads and the intake maybe a valve job as well. have you thought of a stroker kit for your 3.slow???? after all that work your going to be out several thousand bucks. not so cheap for more power

So wait, you're saying that by suggesting he get a decent education and a good job first, I 'm a moron? I wasn't trying to discourage the guy from doing what he wants, I was just trying to emphasize that you have to know what you're doing to tackle a project this big. And maybe more importantly, you need to have the financial stability that a solid job, and decent education provide, otherwise the project's pretty much doomed from the start. I just feel like he should have other priorities right now.
None of that changes the fact that an engine swap (v8 or not) is going to be expensive, time consuming, and involved. As Downey suggested, do some research, and ask lots of questions to see what all is invovled. If you feel like you're up to it, then go ahead, and take lots of pics for us along the way!
