Work In Progress

Haha that's true. You could just gear you axle's to 5:13 or more.

I'm probly gonna go with 5.13 I can still drive down the highway but its give me a decent crawl ratio with having a doubler.

Are you gonna make your own doubler? or get it built at a shop? I've been looking into one of those too. I have an electric BW1350 spare with a manual 1350 in my truck right now.

Well I know a shaft you can order or have made. And I might build mine depending on how much my welding skills improve.

Went down to the river and did some exploring.used 4lo a coue times and its nice to have 4x4 back:headbang: here's the pics:

Truck looks good bud! What's your fuel mileage like?

Well good luck to you on that doubler man! I'm sub to this thread so I can keep up on the progress. Like I said, good looking truck. And that looks like a lot of fun down by the river :headbang:

I've done a 2.9 to 4.0 swap. The milage doesn't increase a whole lot, but you'll notice it when you take hills.

I'm lookin to get alittle more power and get dome more mpg,but I can't have it down for very long, otherwise I'd do a 5.0 swap.

I've been able to keep up with 5.0 explorers. You just run the hell out of your transmission. :icon_hornsup:

Haha maybe I could put a couple things on the 4.0 to give it a pep or two. But I would love to throw a small diesel in it.

So last Friday I went and had my buddy put it on the machine at his smog shop. Then he told me it had a pretty good chance of passing. So I had him run it and the thing passed! The craziest part is I didn't even do a tune up or oil change. So pretty stoked. It give me two years to decide and complete what I want to do as far as motor swap.
