I have been having an ongoing problem and it's not getting worst nor is it getting better. It's just that at some point, the truck wont start :dunno:. It turns over just fine, but it seems it is not getting any gas. Then you wait 5 or 10 minutes and it starts right up. Then as much as 2 or 3 weeks can go by and it does it again - just wont start - then you wait and it starts. Any one have any suggestions?

Not gonna be the fuel pump. Fuel pressure? Maybe. More than likely a loose electrical connection. Check the battery, solenoid / relay on the fender, then the connections at the starter. Also look at all the ground cables around the engine bay.

One more thing. Is the outside of the starter oily or greasy? If a starter gets oil soaked inside it will lower the starter's ability to crank the engine. 4.0 valve covers are notorious for leaking!

Hope this helps!

yeah I didn't really think it would be the FP, otherwise it would have just died. There was one time when the clamp on the pos terminal corroded away. It was diconnected for about 15 hrs until I replaced with some good clamps. The truck ran better than ever. Interior lights seemed to work better in that the passenger side (door ajar) would turn off when the door closed as opposed to staying on for a few minutes after driving. But after a couple months, the electrical issues slowly returned. I will go and check the cables and connectors. So far my engine doesn't leak any oil, even with over 200k miles - lucky purchase.

Thanks for the reply.
