I have a 93 ford ranger 4.0 automatic. When its hot out or i take a longer trip my truck shifts down out off overdrive and won't shift back up. I have to drive at 55 running 2500 rpms. After the truck cools everything is fine again until like I said take a long trip but it does it more when its hot outside. I have tried looking it up but can't find a answer and its not throwing a code. Really hope someone can help me out thanks.

Sounds like the 3-4 solenoid is failing after it is heat soaked. Pretty common.

It is located in the transmission and will require removal of the valve body to replace.
