Woah Black Betty, the Danger Ranger!

How in the world is that extended drawer staying extended like that? It looks like it is well beyond a normal support capacity to be extended that far. I realize there's nothing in it, but what sort of trickery are you using? :icon_confused:

250lb drawer slides hon. Also that drawer only weighs 11 lbs unloaded.

Strong enough for a large person...didn't even know they made them that capacity -- well done!

Yeah, you can get them on eBay and Amazon. I think I got them for like $78 for 2 pairs. They're 250lbs each and for the price I'm pretty happy. They're soft close too and the tailgate doesn't give them any wiggle room when it's all closed up.

That's the nice thing about the high cap shell. It'll still be tight-ish but doable.

Yeah once I put my rod holders on the ceiling I'm not sure I have room for any kind of platform/drawer build. I'm going to take a closer look come spring...

Mine are as high as they are because of the refrigerator being that tall...

It's OK.... keep pouring salt in my wounds.

You and your fridge AND two burner cook top.... fancy cabinets too

I like it...

I would do something like that but with my cab high cap I'm afraid I would never be able to fit in there.

I want to do a drawer system but it will be at wheel well height for the reason you cite. The top would be resting on the top of the wheel wells.

One of the big reasons for the higher drawers and deck was storage. My goal is to put all of my climbing and cycling gear in the truck and leave it there permanently. The drawers being so high gives me room to slide my climbing pack and bike stand up underneath them. I'm

I've found a lock for the tailgate on Amazon and was wondering if anyone had experience with it. All of my shell windows are heavily tinted, my locks on the glass work and when she's all done you can't even tell there's cabinets and drawers in it. My concern is more for out in the wilds nobody would dare come into my yard to try and steal stuff with my dogs.

I have no experience with that lock.

I want pretty much permanent storage too but more for recovery gear and road side repair.

One thing you could do is get the window graphics with the holes punched into them. It would make it much harder for people to look in. The negative is that I’ve been told that visibility out when the windows is wet is next to nothing. If you are good with your mirrors, that shouldn’t be a problem. The other negative is that you can scrape ice and frost off the windows. So, that may be a deal breaker for you.

I'm a long way from being able to do anything like this but I'm watching the thread with great interest. Looks awesome!

So! We got a lot done today!
