windshield wiper something

The oddest thing happened while I was out driving earlier, each time I turn the wiper switch to the first setting the wipers bump up a bit and stop, and I have to flip the switch back and forth repeatedly to get the wipers to go all the way up and then all the way down. Any thoughts on what could be causing it? Is it a bad switch?

Probably the contacts in the switch. I don’t know about yours, but if I remember right in my F-150 I was able to pop the cap off the end of the stalk, remove a screw and the end of the stalk, and clean the contacts. I was also getting a phantom wipe. One of those switch off and driving down the road and it just cycles.
