Wifes new ride

Yeah, the parking brakes are hard to get adjusted decent, and for all your work, they repay you by barely working... in a V8 Explorer you barely notice driving around with them on... and in my Ranger, in low range it's a drag but you can still forget... I should fix the parking brake light switch...

The awd are nasty off roading!!.. I miss the one I had!!! Just had some meaty tires on it and never got stuck except on a log that had all wheels off the ground!!!

Did you buy this thing from the mafia by any chance?

I only ask because clearly this thing was used to transport a dead body at some point...

You never know what them hill folk get up to!

This thing is a nice driver. Its fairly smooth

They are great drivers, as long as you can live with 16mpg... that thing being a spring chicken at 99k miles it might get 17.5 but don't get too optimistic :). We took the wife's sploder on a road trip before the rona situation and it got 17mpg as long as you kept it under 75mph, the mpg dropped when the engine was over 2k for whatever reason... with her current commute it's down to 15mpg so we got her a camry. I'm pretty sure the 40k miles I put on mine I averaged 16ish mpg

She got use to feeding that german garbage truck X5, and then my Ram when I was fixing the A/C in the Lancer and getting the exploder ready for her to drive when she needs it. That Lancer was still getting 31.6mpg hwy and 26.9 back road last I looked. She hasn't driven the exploder enough for us to tell mpg but I dont really care about fuel costs. I daily a cammed 5.0 ranger even to Philadelphia when I had my lung doctor shit there, we are 2hrs from there.

Here are some pics of before and after she detailed the inside. Also the weather tech floor mats aren't as cut to fit as they claim sloppy in the back and throttle got stuck wide open going up a hill damn floor mat....

I’m really hoping that 85_Ranger4x4 is not scouring the internet for a 1st gen explorer. Yes, they are great explorers (my mom had a 96, loved that SUV) but NO more projects!!! 🤣😘. Lord only knows what plans you already have planned for this wife’s new ride whenever it comes in. 🤦‍♀️

Trust me.... when I finally get my 29 done and start doing stuff to this besides making a nice driver, he may take it as a competition.....

I might need to get some tips on detailing based on those pictures. Great results!

Fuel pump went bad. I pulled the tank well it's time for a new tank... but these hillbillies I got the truck from did some dopey shit to the Fuel pump harness Lucky it's just the pumps harness not the main harness. Probably a junk yard Fuel pump they cut wrong and decided to rig it rather then fix it. Probably why the Fuel pump stopped working in the first place. Plus the harbor freight plastic ramps add a level of excitement.

Not bad for 40 bucks. I'll see if they fit under the rear seat. But why not..
