You replace the front bumper and didn’t go with the nicer looking 99+? :nono:

I dont like those bumbers.....
Or the limiteds ground effects....

I like the 96 Eddie Bauer I had....

The progress looks nice, I am sure that your wife will be so happy after you finish this build.

I think I still have this push around here somewhere if you’re interested.

Look how nice that front bumper looks. 😁

Wait, why would replacing twin I-beam with SLA be an improvement? Not significantly different in strength or ride quality and the parts costs to service the basic wear items of the SLA (bearings, ball joints, etc) doubles or triples with no improvements to durability.

I can replace all four front wheel bearings and the grease seals on my Ranger with high quality parts and have money left over before I have bought one cheap front bearing for the Explorer.
Ever watch a TIB truck bounce over an expansion joint on an interstate bridge? The camber changes dramatically. An SLA front end can be aligned properly to minimize tire heel and toe wear( it was called "chop" in out shop) and SLA doesn't have radius arm bushings to let the front suspension to slop around. I don't like the price of the one piece hub and bearing assembly but they last a lot longer than old style bearings that people never clean and repack. Ford should have put grease fittings in all the ball joints and tierod ends but that wouldn't help the customers who go to Jiffy Lube.

Never had bearings go bad in my '85, I think I have put four of the stupid unit bearings in my 02 F-150 over the years.

I would love to sneak up on a clean first Gen Explorer, I would rather V8 swap a first Gen than SAS a second gen. For me SLA is not a selling feature, it's like having a wifi capable toaster... if there is no other choice I guess whatever but it does nothing for me.

I really don’t like your attitude.

You are like a tacky Explorer part headquarters...
You don’t know the half of it buddy.
I have the Explorer NBX roof rack in that pic of the green one, I also have a set of the Ford Explorer NBX folding chairs... there’s way more in my inventory.
