so I drove my truck last week to get some food and drove home and 2 hours later I went to start it and wouldn't start. All the power works (lights wipers radio gauges) but it wouldn't crank. Its acting as if I am not holding the clutch down. The power is not getting to the starter and I don't know what to do next.. Its got to be right in front of my face, but I can't figure it out... Hopfully someone knows on here.

I've had the starter checked, its good. Battery is good. Starter relay/solinoid is working. All the fuses are good. All grounds are connected. From what I could tell all the wires are connected in the ignition and from the battery, and clutch pedal position switch wires are connected. Engine isnt siesed. All belts are moving.

So does anyone know how to fix it? Ideas? Please help its been down for a week. THANKS!

Its a 2002 3.0.

have you checked the neutral safety switch??

hmm nuetral saftey switch? Where is it?

I'll look it up. Has anyone had electrical problems like this?

depends. i assume by your post you have a manual trans. if so look on your clutch pedal you see a senor with two wires going to it. that is it. take and jump across those to wire with a jumper set the parking break and TAKE IT OUT OF GEAR. see if it will start. if it does it is bad. leave it jumped out until you can get one. becareful because your truck will start in gear with it jumped out.

If you could, could you tell me how to jump across with a jumper?yeah I've been tring to bypass the sensor. For some reason the newer rangers have 7 wires cliped into the clutch censor. That could be it I just don't know which wire it could be and how to check it. whatever wire it is I would put to ground. Thanks for help mang

thanks for the pic. That's for a manual transmission right? If you have time, could you possibly post up a pic of the wiring diagram for the 2002 clutch position switch. Thank you

here you go commie, this is the clutch position switch you requested. and yes the dtr image i posted above is for a manual trans

Thanks ice racer!! Now I can fix it or factor out the clutch sensor and start messing with the ignition problem option...

hey commie i was just wonderin what you found out

IT RUNS!! I finally gave up got a mobile mechanic to come look at it asked for the quick fix. He coneccted the power wire and main ignition wire to a fuse and Clutch sensor and power wire to a fuse and it started! For Some reason there was no power to the clutch sensor and the relating fuse in the fuse panel.
