why do you drive ford?

Last two vehicles for me,'85 LTD II, from about'91 to'97 that's when some old guy attempted to make his'84 Buick fit inside my Ford! RIP for both. Bought a'93Ranger in'97, still beating on it! Has survived three kids thru high school and me using it as a delivery truck for two years hauling anything I could fit while also pulling a 5X8 cargo trailer stuffed the same way. Now has 328K miles and still going!

Over the years I have own both GM and Ford trucks, what I also noticed is that Fords tend to break "big" and GMs tend to "nickle and dime" you, cost is the same.
I would rather have one big problem in 5 years than 5 little problems every year.
Just my experience.

agreed!

I have generally had better luck from Ford than anything else. Not saying I didn't have issues, just saying generally my luck has been better. The fit and finish on Ford tends to be a little better and the interiors are better.

the best used cars I have ever bought have all been V8 powered Lincolns.

We always have better luck with fords to. Parents dodge vans always having issues. Brothers Chevy same thing. Transmissions, power steering pumps etc.

My fords have been pretty great. Focus had some issues, previous owner didn't taken care of it. Bought it that way.

Ranger has been pretty much flawless aside from my abuse. Which is my own doing.

I agree with BDAB on the fit and finish. GM and Dodge both have cheap interiors, (Dodge more so than GM, but I will say the interior quality on the 2009 Dodge Charger that we own is miles a head in quality to the 1994 Dodge Intrepid that I had a few years ago.)

I have had my 97 Ranger for 9 years now, (bought it in May 05 from my parents who bought it new) and the only thing that I can really say that has been an issue is the RABS. My Dad fought that since the truck was new, had it fixed several times under warranty and a few times out of warranty. when I bought the truck it did not have any problems, and two weeks later the ABS light came on. I decided to say the hell with it and just drive it and maybe when I replace the brake lines I will look into it.

And to the OP as for why I drive a Ford?

Well when I want to get away from the horsepower and quick responsiveness and the luxury of my 2004 Maxima and don't want to deal with the smooth ride and roominess of the wife's underpowered Charger, I choose the nice torque and high visibility and great utility of the Ranger. And as an added bonus, my three year old really likes the Ranger, and it enhances my rugged manliness. win win.

you should check out the interior on the 14 fusion se...... I thought I was in a Lincoln

I can't remember who, but someone on TRS is friends with that guy. That is the best video on YouTube, hands down.

Everything was running good when I sold them everything that was not ford were basically given to me I drove for a couple years after doing repairs and sold to people for the price of parts.

Cheap. I'm adjusted. I learned to work on my Ranger first.

All brands are good, except Suzuki & Kia cars.

The newer fusions are awesome all the way around. Front end is an Austin Martin rip off and I love it.

I drive Ford because they have handled everything I have thrown at them without issues. I have only owned one nonrbv (A very nice 2004 Gmc Canyon, funnest truck to drive ever until it had a load to haul) and it would fishtail every time I loaded the bed heavily. Also started falling apart and it wasn't even an old truck yet. I am very hard on my trucks doing the job I do and therefore, they need to be able to handle it. In my current 2007 Ranger I have hauled loads in the bed that weighed more than the truck. At 197,000 Miles, bought with 125,000, its running like a brand new truck. Albeit I did have to replace the computer a few months ago for a large sum, I'm still on original auto tranny and engine.

Got tired of Chevy's always had some Fords around. I decided to switch over from small blocks to big blocks and always wanted to build a Ford FE to be different.

I don't recall.

Actually I remember in the 70's, GM was always on strike. I thought "Who would want to buy a car built by disgruntled workers?"

I have owned something by everyone and Fords seemed to "fit" me best. Although I do like my Vette.:D

Talk about a dead thread..... I bought a 2008 Focus SES because I had 10,000 cash and wanted the most for my money.... my wife comutes to Seattle every day 'bout 100 miles round trip and it lives in stop and go traffic .... With the automatic it gets 32 mpg. Got 41 when I drove it to Port Angeles and 40 when I drove it Tillamook
