Who rides motorcycles, and what do you have?

I agree.

Even if I had the money for one, I wouldn't want a bike that big. That's a lot of power between your legs.

especally at 17, dude, dirtbikes and street bikes are 2 completly diffrent animals, thats why i ride the bike i do

my 78 kz400, so if i go down, i go down without fear of it costing me my lifes savings, and remember, leave the racing for the track, it makes the rest of us look like a-holes that we only are on occasion
ride safe, ride free, ride naked

interesting side note, do NOT ride a quad naked, especally in muddy woods in febuary, i still have that thorn scar in my ass cheek:black_eye:

Working on a new toy. Those Italians can do more than cook.

I wanted to get a new XB when Buell got shut down. A dealership near me was selling them for 4k brand new just to unload them. Unfortunately, I can't afford insurance on one. It would be over 300 bucks a month.

I'm happy with the Cyclone, though. Great bike, and somehow it only costs me 50 bucks a month for full coverage.

I was pretty tempted to get one too for the deals they were making on them. I don't think I ever came across anything for $4k or I would have bought one instead of my Sportster...seems like the lowest I found any was around $6500.

Then again...I might have regretted that when I got it home and tried to buy insurance...$300 a MONTH!!! wow. My Sportster is $214 a YEAR for full coverage (which is $50 less than my wifes Ninja 250 :icon_rofl:)

They were trying extra hard to unload them. Nobody in Maine likes Buells, it seems. During the year I was there, the only time I saw the Cyclone I bought, ans 4 Blasts. And those were all on Craigslist.

And yeah, insurance blows. I paid $80 a month for full coverage on a $13k, 1700 cc, 135 hp M109R, but a it's $360 a month for a $4k GSXR600R.

My current ride: 2006 Honda ST1300. (had the 1100 for 13 years)

Here's a pic of both of them:

And from my last little ride:

I've got about 25 total, but since this seems to be more of a street bike thread, I'll mostly stick to those.

i ride a 2006 Suzuki RM-Z 450 I've been riding it for maybe 3 years now. i love this bike its a bit temperamental and for you lighter guys the suspension and frame will be way too stiff but for a big guy like me who can really stick it in the turns and loves to do a little bit of everything its great. its really a torque monster power has been described as "off and on" but i find that when your used to it there is a lot of control to the power but if you don't have a good throttle hand then the bike will definitely punish you for it. she definitely prefers to be ridden hard. wish it had 5 or 6 gears(its only got 4)

and here is one of my dad sisters and myself where we are on our old bikes my dad bought a Kawasaki klr 650 he still has it and uses it to go to work in the summer and to go exploring with me in the ranger he now has a husqvarna tc 450 my sisters and i where on some box built Chinese made bikes that where "copies" of some Japanese bikes of old but they where terrible. none the less they always worked and the two larger ones where actually street registered.

Kinda neat to see someone else has an older XL bike, here is my '76 XL-350. I had it going (and it ran pretty good) 5 years ago, now I am trying to get it going again. Ever since it left the back of the pickup it has had the tank/seat off so these are about the best pictures I have of it.

I picked up an '83 Honda GL650i Silverwing a couple of weeks ago for $400. It's going to need some new parts to get back to perfect running order, but so far it looks like the total will be about $1200 including purchase, tires, new cam chain and tensioner, brake pads, carb rebuild, assorted gaskets and seals, etc.

Looking forward to the first ride. Aside from parts getting scarce, they're very sweet machines. 60hp or so, V-twin flipped 90* so it's extremely easy to work on, quite a bit lighter than a Goldwing but you still get factory luggage and a full fairing. Should make a great long distance runner.
