On my Jeep I have an ARB single, on my Superduty I have a Viair 450 with a 2.5 gallon tank mounted on the frame rail. I won't receive my 2025 Ranger for a while as it was just ordered today but I plan to have on board air, what are people using? Before I sell the Superduty I can pull the Viair off but I'm guessing the tank probably won't fit under the Ranger, although I don't have to have a tank, the 450C works fine without it. I presently have the 450C mounted under the Superduty with the air intake located inside the cab behind the back seat.

I don't have it yet on either truck. I want to get a one gallon tank and see if I can shoe horn it between the bed quarter panel and the tub for the interior for the bed. It looks like it might fit. I think the trick is going to be the lower part where the quarter panel bows in. Maybe feeding it through the wheel well will work?

I have a Smittybilt 2781 mounted in the toolbox on my bed. I like being able to just open the lid and turn it on instead of having to carry it to the front of the truck and hook it to my battery. The 2781 puts out 5.65 CFM and is plenty powerful enough for what I need. I may eventually add an air chuck to the outside of the toolbox somewhere.

I have a small 1.5 gallon tank. Currently in the bed for this trip. But I will relocate it in my spare tire location. My spare doesn't fit under there anymore. I would be a little nervous placing a tank under the space behind the wheels though if you offroad it. I have smashed both sides up a couple inches on mine. Custom body work haha. As @Curious Hound pointed out to me. 1.5 gallons of 120psi dont go very far. Does give me a way to blow out my air filter and such. Im carrying my Viair as well being this will be the test run on the system and don't want to need and borrow air haha

I picked up a Viair 450P-EF. It’s the newer “enhanced flow” version of the older 450. It’s supposed to push more air than the regular. We’ll see about that. (No we actually won’t, I’ve never used the original 450 so I have nothing to compare it too. It just sounded good.).
I will eventually turn it into a built in with a tank and 2-3 outlet ports, but I got it a few days ago and need it for our Colorado trip in a couple days. There’s no time to build an entire air system, so portable was the way to go for now.

i used to run engine driven compressor, they are incredible.

but the Milwaukee and DeWalt stuff is so good I just run a slime pump now. its was not cheap either for what it is. (it is actually a cheap piece of well it works)....for a slime anyway I think I was overpriced. but the other ones box filled up with water and drowned the damn thing. so I try to keep this one inside something

How much room is there under the back seat to stash a small portable? Would a Viair 450C fit under there? I could make my 450C into a portable with battery clips if there is nowhere to mount it.

I keep a portable behind the rear seat during daily use. Would be a pain to get to when packed up so I through it in the bed on trips. This will be my first trip with the on-board setup so I will be bringing the my portable for a back up.

I have a Viair mounted under the hood with a 3.5 gal. Tank back where the spare tire used to be. Quick connects at front and rear of the truck.

There is not a lot of room behind or under the the Supercrew rear seat with the 2019-2023 models. I have no idea if they improved that starting in 2024 with the remodel. There is room for a small inflator. The smaller Harbor freight tire inflator might fit behind the seat but the bigger one will not.

This one

Not this one. It's about the twice the size of the other one above.
