Hi, im new to this posting thing. I have a 2002 xlt off road with the 4.0 in it, just recently replaced just the serpentine belt for preventative maintenance and drove it about 75 miles today and notice when i came home a whining noise coming from the belt area. Not sure it is an idler pulley gone bad, tensioner, pump or something else. It isnt constant, kinda cycles on off when parked flat with wheels straight, on for like 20 seconds then off and so on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Its 36 degrees out but it does seem to be blowing really cold. Not sure if the weather would affect that result

The only thing that cycles on and off while sitting still is the fan and the clutch for the AC. I'm betting the clutch for the AC is starting to go, IF you have AC.

Prior to replacing the belt I could hear the clutch kicking on and off but even when the AC and heat are off, can still hear the whining sound
