Hi, I wasn't sure how to ask it. I have a 2000 Ford Ranger "Sport", 4cyl. I need to get an alternator, but I wanted to buy one from a junk yard or online. Do they 1996-2000 use the same alternator? I believe mine is the 95amp, but I don't know for sure. I saw the thread on here about it, so I have to check. But I have seen alternators for $35 from a junkyard, but they are 1999.
Thanks for help.
Edit: I also was curious if other Fords from that time period will work. Will an Explorer alternator, for example, work in the Ranger?
Edit: I saw this, http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/alternator.shtml
Does this mean 1996 - 2003 had the same alternator? Interchangeable?
There Are 95 Amp Models In:
1991-1994 Aerostar and Navajo 4.0
1993-1996 Bronco
1991-1999 Explorer
1994-1997 B-Series (All!)
1992-2001 Ranger (All!)
1997-1998 Tracer and Escort (95 amp)
Thanks for help.
