I have two different looking slide pins on the caliper. I did not notice until I pulled them out so not sure which one went where. I cant find any info in the manual so far. Anyone know?
the flat groove is to allow grease to slide around and equalize.
the rubber is for vibration dampening.
I've always put them back in which ever way I happened to grab 'em. no ill effects that I noticed, or didn't notice.
I'll check the manual.
EDIT: nothing in the 2005 factory manual about the 2 different slider pins.
maybe try a Ford parts list, might have to go to a newer year as 2005 parts are dropping out of the system.
EDIT again: on a 2007 it appears to be the top position. if the pic is enlarged the top pin has an extra line on it.
