Just curious to see which generation is most prominent around here. If you have more then one, just choose the option for the one you drive the most.

Mines a 1994 but it’s race only. My Tacoma is my daily driver.

currently own the following: 83 regular cab (cab only) 86 longbed (see signature) 88 longbed STX High Rider (running driving parts truck) 88 extended cab (unfinished project) 97 extended cab (free non running parts truck) 97 longbed (has been cut in half, is a trailer now) 98 regular cab (shares daily driver duties with the 86) Have previously owned: 87 longbed (parts truck) 91 extended cab (4.0 and interior donor for 88 extended cab project) I've got parts stashed from about 5 or n6 more trucks, but I didn't purchase the trucks, only the parts, I have a slight issue with truck hoarding, haha. With the exception of the 83 and 98, all trucks are 2.9 or 4.0 powered 4x4 trucks.

1992 Ranger Custom 4.0 with A4LD, 4x4, 8.8” rear diff.

Miss my ’83 with a 2.8 & 4-spd w/OD, but it was only 2wd. Still, it was a great little truck - best automotive purchase I ever made.

Body and frame is first gen. Soon none of the powertrain will be.

I never really looked at the 2002-2011 as being a Gen 5. In my mind, the 1998-2011 is a Gen 4. I never saw any significant design / style change from 1998-2011.

Same here, is the SOHC 4.0 and maybe the Duratech the reason for the split?

Works nice to split up the years a little. Helps the first gen stay competitive too, if not for that we would be down one if fourth gen went from 98-11. :icon_twisted:

Driving a 3rd gen. while i fix my 1st gen. BII .
Then when the 1st gen is fixed i will drive that and fix the 3rd gen.

:icon_rofl:

thats what i am doing....:icon_thumby: patching up 2nd gen b2 to rework the thing i pictured.(actually that is 85's picture....just the newest one i have access to)

seriously...there are only 2 generations of rangers....there should at least be 3 generations going from ttb to sla.... but the running cab dimension changes and frame modularising happened on the fly prior to the suspension reconfiguration.

there are the solid ones......and the brilliantly engineered ones that turn to dust from shitty steel matrix....i expect to see that reflected as they become extinct.

It is almost a woo-hoo when I see another first gen on the road. Newer ones are still very plentiful.

And I am fixing my first gen so I can gut the interior and reseal the back window of my F-150 so then I can change 3/5's of the power train in the Ranger.
