I'm looking at a few systems, want something that gives a nice v8ish sound (I know you aren't ever gonna get it from a v6). I got the 4.0 ohv. I've looked into the dynomax (there's quite a few if anyone can let me know which is the best that'd be cool!), the mbrp, flowmaster, magnaflow, Gibson, just any of the name brands.

Basically I don't want it to sound like a ricer, something that's got some muscle in it..

I like the dynomax for the price but I don't know if it'll just sound bad.

Thanks!

I have a dynomax system on my wifes 97 4.0l. It sounds fine with the engine you will never get the v6 to sound like a v8 but it sure does not sound ricey.

Okay does it add some deepness to the exhaust tone though? And the muffler is clamped on right? So if I were to change my muffler to a flowmaster 40 it'd work out nicely?

The muffler is clamped on. the tone is a bit deeper then stock but sounds nice and mellow. I like the sound of it. Yes you could swap out for a Flow master if you opted to.

I think I'm gonna go with the flowmaster 40 I just called the muffler shop and he said it would be $155 for the muffler, and a nice tip, installed. Thanks for the replies man

Which are they running? The dual outlet or single? The dual looks like it is just straight back w/ no muffler.

The tips are the "mufflers". They are resonator tips.

Hmmm...I wonder how that sounds compared to my turned down FM40....louder or quieter and how much interior noise it makes....
